Existing Building Elevator Retrofitting
Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai Campus
In summer 2019, the university invested RMB 80+ million to install 116 elevators in 52 days — making it the first university in China to complete a campus-wide elevator retrofit in one phase. KXD and Yijiati surveyed all 116 entrances, employed modular prefabrication and integral hoisting, and overcame severe weather — with the first steel shafts reaching hoisting in just 25 days. The project was delivered on schedule, setting a national benchmark for campus elevator retrofits.

Existing Building Elevator Retrofitting
Zilai Garden Building 21
Built around 2000, Zilai Garden’s aging residents faced growing mobility challenges. In 2017, Yijiati completed the elevator retrofit for Building 21 — managing resident coordination, design, permitting, shaft construction, installation, and commissioning. The project’s success spurred neighboring buildings to follow.

Existing Building Elevator Retrofitting
Xiayang Street Building 63
The first project to commence construction under Zhongshan’s new elevator retrofit policy — and only the second successful case in the city. The 7-story building has 12 units. Yijiati completed the entire hoisting in just 10 hours. The project became a replicable benchmark, inspiring neighboring buildings to follow.
