Zhongshan First Bridge

Zhongshan First Bridge is a vital transportation link spanning the Qijiang River. It is China’s first steel box girder spatial composite tied-arch bridge — featuring a lightweight design and elegant, flowing form. KXD was deeply involved in the bridge’s structural reinforcement and aesthetic enhancement project, addressing structural deterioration that developed over years of service through systematic repairs and functional upgrades.

The KXD team demonstrated comprehensive municipal bridge engineering capability, including full replacement of the main deck pavement, installation of anti-throw screens and central barrier nets, and structural repairs such as crack sealing and bearing plate corrosion treatment. For the lighting upgrade, the team used a clean, atmospheric lighting design — with thousands of wall-washers and floodlights to highlight the bridge’s distinctive arch structure — transforming it into a landmark that blends structural beauty with nighttime appeal along the Qijiang River.

This project exemplifies KXD’s integrated capability in reinforcing existing municipal infrastructure while enhancing landscape quality — a practical demonstration of the “structural safety + image revitalization” philosophy central to the company’s urban renewal practice.
