Zhongken Pedestrian Bridge

Spanning the Qijiang River at approximately 95 meters, Zhongken Pedestrian Bridge is one of eight major pedestrian bridges in Zhongshan’s central area. Originally a closed-in structure, KXD led its renovation as part of the Qijiang night tour landscape project. Project leader Guo Jianyan transformed it into a spiral-curved structure with an irregular membrane canopy — earning it the “Little Waist” nickname for its distinctive form.

This early KXD urban renewal project demonstrates the company’s forward-looking design and engineering capability in renovating existing municipal facilities.

KXD balanced structural safety with landscape aesthetics throughout the renovation — transforming a single-function bridge into a landmark serving both transportation and urban landscape value. The project embodies KXD’s “functional enhancement + image revitalization” philosophy and laid the foundation for subsequent municipal infrastructure work.
