Elevator Retrofitting Projects

Chunhui Garden was completed and occupied in 2000. Under regulations at the time, buildings under 8 stories were not required to have elevators. As the original residents retired, the lack of elevator access became an increasingly heavy burden.

In late 2016, Mr. Deng Yinglie, a resident in his 70s, took the lead in initiating the elevator application. All 12 households in the unit signed in 100% support. The owners worked closely with the Yijiati team to complete site surveys, design, and planning permit applications. In July 2017, the project passed the planning public notice.

On February 12, 2018, the elevator was officially handed over for use. This project became the first residential unit in Zhuhai to successfully complete the application and installation process after the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone Existing Residential Building Elevator Addition Management Measures were released for public comment. As a landmark project for Zhuhai’s existing building elevator retrofitting, it received extensive media coverage and provided a replicable model for future retrofits in the Pearl River Delta region.
